Community Engagement
For developers passionate about
people & communities
eagle eye
design strongly recommends starting public engagement at the beginning of a project to genuinely take account of people’s needs and priorities. We believe it’s important to let local communities know that a potential project is being developed, sharing outline proposals at an early stage & gaining local support where possible.
We genuinely enjoy the process of consultation!
We see the process as a two way exercise; building trust & rapport with people & communities, sharing information in an honest & transparent way, taking time to hear people’s points of views, gathering information & insights, correcting mis-information or misinterpretation & feeding information back into an active design process. It’s about people & communities, not simply outcomes & there is no affective shortcut to building trust through dialogue, face to face with people.
We have experience of running community consultation events in schools, community centres & in local parks. We don’t rely solely on newspaper adds or social media campaigns, but get out canvassing door to door, talk to shop-keepers, dog-walkers, joggers, youth groups, faith groups, PCSOs. We have experience of working with Local Authorities, Local Police, Statutory Bodies, Not-for-Profits, land owners, developers, government agencies, housing & commercial developers.
